Our company Anthy would like to send you information about the application of activated carbon in the field of water treatment.

Granular activated carbon GAC is used to remove organic components, heavy metals and residual disinfectants in feed water. This not only improves the taste, but activated carbon also removes a lot of metals and toxins that are harmful to human health. Besides, it also protects other water treatment equipment such as RO membranes and ion exchangers from oxidation and organic erosion. Activated carbon is a preferred treatment technique due to its effectiveness and lack of significant side effects

Most of the activated carbons are made from raw materials such as coconut shells, Anthracite, wood... Typical surface area for activated carbon is about 1,000 M2/Gr. However, different materials will produce different types of activated carbon in terms of hardness, density, pore and particle size, surface area, extractant, ash and pH. Differences in source material make certain carbon immobilizers suitable for different applications.

The two main mechanisms by which activated carbon removes contaminants from water are adsorption and catalytic reduction. Organics are removed by adsorption and residual detergents are removed by catalytic reduction.

Anthracite coal
  • High Carbon Content
  • Low sulfur content.
  • Large porosity, many angles.
  • Treatment of water supply and waste water
Anthracite activated carbon
  • High Carbon Content
  • Less impurities
  • Activated Anthracite Series
  • Deodorization, detoxification, water purification
Coconut shell activated carbon
  • Activated carbon treatment water
  • Activated carbon for gas treatment
  • Activated carbon filter gold
  • Other special applications
